The Christian Reformed Church of Sierra Leone (CRC-SL) recently organized a leadership conference in Bo, Yemoh Town, in the southern part of Sierra Leone. The event, led by the CRC-SL President, featured Rev. Thomas Dyakama, President of CRC-Liberia, as the guest speaker. Rev. Dyakama, a retired pastor from CRC-USA, was invited to share his wisdom on faith, leadership, and service.
The host, Rev. Maxwell Alimamy Kanu, along with the congregation, warmly welcomed the visiting leaders in a spirit of joy and celebration. The conference brought together several dignitaries from Bo City, including the National General Secretary and the Vice President of CRC-SL, who attended in full support.
During his sermon, Rev. Dyakama encouraged believers to see hardships and challenges as opportunities for spiritual growth and fulfillment of God’s plan. He reminded the audience that God, who begins a good work in His people, is always faithful to complete it. He urged members to dedicate themselves to God’s service with confidence, knowing that He will equip them for their calling.
Rev. Dyakama also addressed a common issue among Christians today—the lack of concern for others. He emphasized that Jesus wants His followers to share His heart and mindset by showing love, care, and compassion. He encouraged the church to develop a spirit of selflessness and to support those in need, both within and outside the church community.
The conference served as a platform for reflection, renewal, and encouragement. It reinforced the church’s mission to promote faith, unity, and service. In his closing remarks, Rev. Dyakama urged attendees to express their love for God by demonstrating kindness and care toward others in their daily lives.
The event was a great success, inspiring church leaders and members to strengthen their commitment to God’s work and to live out their faith through acts of service and love.
